RakebackMyPoker Controls FAQ
Q: How much can I earn from my players?
A: Your commission is based on two factors. Firstly, there is the base revenue, which is the amount that your player generates in turnover for RakebackMyPoker. This base revenue is sometimes a fixed amount per deal, or a percentage of gross or net rake. The actual amount varies greatly per site. This amount is multiplied by your tier multiplier in the current month. This multiplier starts at 0.4, which means that you will earn a 40% share in your referred players' revenue. There are 5 higher tiers, which can be attained by generating decent to high volumes of revenue. All the exact tables can be found on the main RakebackMyPoker Controls page.

Q: How does RakebackMyPoker recognise if a player is mine?
A: The first time a player visits RakebackMyPoker, their IP number is stored along with their referrer at that time on the server side, as well as a cookie on the user site. If a player visits for the first time without a referrer set, the standard blank referrer will be set. When a player next visits, firstly his IP is checked against the database. If his IP is in the database, the referral data is taken from the database. The cookie is set again in case it has been deleted. If his IP is not in the database, the page searches for a cookie. If the user is using a computer and browser he has used before on RakebackMyPoker, a cookie will be found containing the referral data. This is then also inserted into the database to make sure that his new IP is permanently linked to his referrer.

Example 1: Player visits http://rakebackmypoker.com, then visits http://rakebackmypoker.com/?ref=yourusername on the same network and signs up somewhere. That player will not be tracked to you.
Example 2: Player visits rakebackmypoker.com/?ref=yourusername, then visits rakebackmypoker.com and signs up. That player will be tracked to you, because the first visit counts.
Example 3: Player visits rakebackmypoker.com/?ref=otherguy, then visits rakebackmypoker.com/?ref=yourusername. That player will be tracked to 'otherguy', because the first visit counts (referral data in database overrides '?ref=' tag.
Example 4: Player visits rakebackmypoker.com/?ref=yourusername, then visits rakebackmypoker.com on a different network, but on the same pc. That player will be tracked to you (since May 6th), because the set cookie contains the referral data.
Example 5: Player visits rakebackmypoker.com/?ref=yourusername at home, then visits rakebackmypoker.com at a friend's house. That player will not be tracked to you, because the IP will not be recognized, and no referral cookies have been set on the friend's pc.
Example 6: Player visits rakebackmypoker.com/?ref=yourusername at home, then visits rakebackmypoker.com/?ref=otherguy at a friend's house using his own laptop. That player will be tracked to you, because the cookie overrides the '?ref=' tag.
Example 7: Player has a RakebackMyPoker Controls account that is tracked to you. As long as he is logged in, all signups will be tracked to you, regardless of IP or cookies set. (Note: Logging into a RakebackMyPoker Controls account will not modify IP or cookie data)

There are a couple of obvious flaws in this system that will be taken care of soon, being firstly that the affiliate who converts ultimately deserves the player and secondly that a player might visit RakebackMyPoker directly first by mistake, before you have given them the referral link. For these situations (such as Example 1), we have a solution. At the bottom of the home page, you will see the text 'You were referred to RakebackMyPoker by ...' in the footnotes, along with a link. This link will remove his IP from the records and expires the cookie, meaning that his next visit to any RakebackMyPoker page will be interpreted as his first visit. If he now uses your referral link, he will be tracked to you. Use the data on the home page again to make sure the retracking process has been successful. Note: This link is not to be used by an affiliate to refer himself! This will not work for players who already have a RakebackMyPoker Controls account.

Q: How does RakebackMyPoker know how much revenue my players have generated?
A: The method of tracking differs per deal. We use two ways of tracking players, depending on the reports we have access to. The best way is by setting up a so-called 'tracker' for each user. This is usually in the form of an extra tag on the end of our regular affiliate link. Users that are recognized as your referrals will be given that link to sign up with, instead of the standard link. In our reports, we will be able to distinguish between trackers and therefore precisely measure your referral revenue. Sadly, not all sites offer multiple trackers, but most of the rest do offer reports with statistics per individual player. This allows us to also use a second method. This requires players to submit their details (this is displayed as part of the instructions). Their data will be storted in a database along with their referrer's user id number, which links that account name on that site to you. For each player that appears in our records, the database is searched. If a result is found (if the player has submitted their data), the revenue will be attributed to the referrer mentioned in the records.

Q: Am I allowed to sign up using my own links?
A: No. Under no circumstances is it permitted to earn referral commission for your own play. We do our best to detect and prevent abuse of the referral program. Cheaters will be banned from the program, not receive any commission, and the poker room in question will be notified of the situation to deal with it how they see fit.

Q: May I refer family or roommates?
A: It is not possible to refer players on the same local network as you (same IP number). If the family member or roommate in question is using a different internet connection to you, it is possible (and permitted) to refer that person.

Q: When will I get paid for my referrals?
A: Assuming your monthly commission is over $50, payments will be made to your specified preferred payment method by the 11th of the next month. Amounts under $50 may be carried over for up to 3 months, after which they will be paid out in full regardless of the sum of the payment.

Q: I have a suggestion or a question. How can I contact you?
A: Contact Us
