EPT Daylight Robbery

Mastermind Behind EPT-Raid Captured

Berlin police have announced that the individual repsonsible for orchestrating the brazen midday heist at the EPT Event on March 6th is in custody. Authorities say that they've captured the 28-year-old Lebanese man and his accomplices, but that the several hundred thousand stolen euros are yet to be located.

The robbery happened in broad daylight, and seemed to be right out of a hollywood movie script.  Several armed, masked, men entered the casino demanding that the $4.7 Million prizepool be handed over to them. Remarkably, a security guard was able to temporarily subdue one of the assailants, and the robbery was cut short.

Thankfully, nobody was seriously injured, and the tournament continued several hours later the same day. Video footage of the robbery can be seen by clicking here The fact the theifs knew to strike shortly after the players bought in to the tournament, led many to believe they have some involvement with either the casino or the poker world in general.

Berlin Police have made no statement regarding this manner. After the tournament continued, it was ultimately won by online MTT regular Kevin MacPhee, with a very fitting screenname for the situation: ImaLuckSac.
