RESULTS OF EVENT #13 2,500 NO LIMIT HOLD EM
So my day overall yesterday was meh. I came down with a cold, started feeling sick with a fever less then 2 hours into the tournament. I am used to playing poker in the comfort of my home when I am sick sometimes, but this was way worse being out in the freezing cold casino then walking outside into the blazing sun.
I lasted somewhere around 500/1000 entrants and quickly took a series of beats that abruptly ended my day. I chipped up really quickly since I had a relatively easy starting table. Sam Simon (the simpsons creator) got moved to my right and we got it all in preflop, his 88's against my aces and the board panned out giving him runner runner quads. He seems like a nice guy so I really didn't mind him sucking out on me (it was for approx. 1/3 of my chips though!). Then I got moved to a slightly tougher table with a few MTT (multi-table tournament) pro's. This is where I lost another cooler to a short stack who moved in on the river against me on a board of AQ7Q4 my opponent had AA and I had QJ. This was for about half of my remaining stack. That left me pretty short on chips which usually leads to flipping - and flipping indeed occurred my AK < 88 and I was out.
Right now it's Saturday afternoon, I chose to sleep in today rather then drag myself out of bed feeling sick to go play live (double ughh). Sleeping in was def. the better choice as I feel about 80% better right now, just need to get some food in me.
On the drive home from the Rio yesterday, me and Josh pulled up next to a Rolls Royce Phantom with it's warning lights on going about 5-10MPH on the side of the highway. The car was shadowing someone in full sweats running in the Vegas heat. It was none other then Flloyd Mayweather training for his upcoming fight. Josh managed to snap a quick pic.....
